That game was beyond awesome! It was the best Texas performance I've seen this season since the OSU game. Vince Young threw some picture-perfect passes and had a-mazing rushes (192 yards worth). Cedric Benson may have only rushed 70 yards, but it's quality over quantity when you seem him shrug off 4 guys. At least Maurice Taylor shined though with some great punt and kickoff returns. And I was very impressed with how Michigan, being number 13, performed. Great game all around and the scariest last minutes ever! For those of you who want to know more about the Rose Bowl game itsef, you can read all about it here.
I hope that everyone had a lot of fun on New Year's Eve. I went over to my Uncle's place and partied with my cousins until 4:30AM where I had many a Jello shooter. It wasn't as wild as last year, but a more intimate party turned out to be just as fun. It's amazing how much alcohol improves your ability to dance.
And now your movie update for the weekend. If anyone is up for another Indian comedy movie, you'll want to look into Bride and Prejudice. It's about a woman in India who is being pursued by this guy from LA while her family tries to arrange a marraige for her with really horrible prospects. Looks like it'll be pretty funny if they do it right, hopefully even more so than Where's the Party, Yaar?. And all you Star Wars fans out there may want to check out this site while it's still up because it illicitly has some pictures from the next installment that look pretty cool. I myself liked the last 3 episodes, but I don't think they're worthy of undying worship though and the first 2 episodes were very average movies. Maybe the third time will be a charm, who knows.
The techie article of the day is here and is about free open source software. This has been a source of contention for computer scientists and garage programmers alike for a very long time, and this article makes clear the software cycle and errors on both side of the battlefield. The author definitely sways more on the side of FOSS and I'm not sure how much I agree with him. I think open source is great, to the point of software with such high costs that it would hurt the creating firm. It's a great way for starting programmers to get their feet off the ground and I think in certain fields it really works well for innovation.
