Happy Winter-een-mas!

I hope that you are all having a great Winter-een-mas!

The inception of Winter-een-mas

For those of you who don't know, Winter-een-mas is the January celebration of the awesome video games released in the winter since January and February are historically slow months for good game releases. I've kicked it off myself with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This game is a year old, and my brother got it for $10 so I thought I'd try it out and now I know why it was so highly acclaimed. Just look at it:

Look at that character detail!

When you can do moves like that in slow motion and do it fluidly, that's the sign of a developer who really thought things through. You can control time in this game! How cool is that?! I definitely reccomend it to everyone, espeically adventure game fans, since it's only $20 and is a timeless classic.

So 24 premeired last night and oh dear lord was it badass! Those of you who haven't seen it, catch up and watch it! I spend every day but Monday waiting for the next episode of this show and it is, hands down, the best television show I've ever watched (and I've watched a lot of tv). Great cast, great script, and great production values. Tonight will be episodes 2 and 3 starting at 7PM on Fox.

Tell her, Jack!

A couple of short notes now. An AICN reader submitted a review of Elektra to them, and it is pretty average as expected. Harry reccomends Assault on Precinct 13 instead, and I'm inclined to agree with him. In other news, the adult film industry has become a mover and shaker in the debate over the next DVD format. Blu-rays are higher capacity but HD DVDs are cheaper and it looks like change is coming whether we want it or not :( I'm not buying my DVDs again on this new format! But I doubt it'll become an issue before next year.

I will conclude this post with the Monday Madness meme:

1. My lucky number is 2.
2. My favorite day of the week is Friday because I can chill.
3. I spend about 45 minutes on the phone a week, and 30 of those are long distance.
4. My favorite cereal is Oreo O's.
5. One hobby of mine is playing guitar.
6. I wish I could spend more time playing video games.
7. I wish I could spend less time studying.
8. I am really proud of my GPA.

Feel free to comment with your own answers!
